Where we invest

Specialist capital for operational markets.

The common thread is not a fashionable label. It is software, data or infrastructure that becomes hard to remove from a real operating workflow.

01 · Primary focus

Sports software

Performance analytics, coaching workflows, club and league systems, scouting intelligence, fan infrastructure, venue technology and applied AI built on proprietary data.

02 · Selective focus

Regional telecom

France-based regional operators and digital infrastructure where local density, recurring demand, network quality and operating discipline create defensibility.

03 · Geographic edge

Europe ↔ United States

European platforms that can scale into deeper US budgets, and US products that can unlock fragmented European markets through localisation and partnerships.

Market evidence

The thesis sits on measurable structural change.

We use official datasets as a reality check. Market momentum matters, but only when it translates into durable customer need and value capture.

France fibre coverage

Share of premises eligible for FttH.

ARCEP
Official ARCEP publications. Coverage advanced from 92% to 94.9% in twelve months.

France fibre subscriptions

Fibre subscriptions, millions.

ARCEP
The investment question is shifting from build-out alone toward adoption, quality, operations and lifecycle economics.

European innovation capital

EIC Fund reported capitalisation and signed investment agreements.

European Commission
The EIC also reports more than 1,000 active co-investors and €5bn mobilised from private investors across its wider impact metrics.
Sports technology

Technology is moving closer to the decision-maker.

UEFA’s Innovation Hub explicitly works with start-ups, academic institutions and businesses to test new solutions on and off the pitch. That matters because institutional buyers are becoming active participants in innovation ecosystems.

We treat that as evidence of a more institutionalised buyer ecosystem, not as proof that every sports-tech product deserves capital.

European sport economy

1.6 million people employed in sport across the EU.

Eurostat reported 1.6m sport-sector jobs in 2024, with 37% of workers aged 15 to 29. The same release highlights more than 5,000 sporting-goods manufacturers in 2023 and €8bn of turnover.

Investment implication

Digitisation is not the thesis. Workflow ownership is.

We prefer products attached to repeatable operating processes, measurable ROI and data rights. A large market cannot rescue a shallow product.

PB INVEST screen

What gets through the first filter.

We pressure-test product depth, revenue quality, data defensibility, distribution efficiency, cross-border portability and governance before valuation excitement enters the room.

ProductEmbedded

Mission-critical workflow beats optional engagement.

RevenueRepeatable

Recurring or highly repeatable revenue with evidence of retention.

DataOwned

Permissioned, proprietary or compounding datasets with clear rights.

ExpansionPortable

Europe-US scale without destroying economics in localisation.

Domain insight before deal heat.

Founders, owners and co-investors can bring us situations where operating detail matters.
